Binghan He
Dr. Binghan He is an assistant professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio, leading the Intelligent Systems & Bionics Engineering Lab (ISABAL). He has been a postdoctoral scholar with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2022 to 2024. Previously, he was a postdoctoral fellow with the Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin from 2021 to 2022. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2021. Before that, he earned his M.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 2015 and my B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 2014.

Tom Zhang
Chengjie (Tom) Zhang joined ISABAL in the summer of 2025 to pursue his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering. His research interests include human argumentation exoskeletons, biologically-inspired robot control, and robust adaptive control. Before joining ISABEL, he received his B.E. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China in 2023 and his M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2025.

Stephen Glen
Stephen Glen joined ISABAL in the summer of 2025 to pursue his M.S./Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering. His research interests include series elastic actuators and data-driven robot control. Before joining ISABEL, he received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2022.

Thomas Mati
Thomas Mati joined ISABAL in the summer of 2025 as an undergraduate research assistant. His research interests focus on real-time operating systems and their integration with robot control through ROS. He is currently pursuing his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Carlos Cerda Argueta joined ISABAL in the summer of 2025 as an undergraduate research assistant. His research interests focus on the design of series elastic actuators and their integration with lower-limb exoskeletons.
